    Hi @alexrohner

    Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, there isn’t any way of adding images to the header in between the site title and the menu. Ideally, what you need there is a widget area. Let me see if I can’t create that for you in a child theme. Chat in a bit.

    Hi again 🙂 Download my child theme for this. Install the ZIP via Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme. It’s normal for Menu Location settings to reset when activating a child theme you just need to go and resave at Appearance > Menus.

    Let’s put the CSS needed for this into the field at Appearance > Custom CSS. That’ll make it a little easier to make changes. CSS is:

    /* Header */

    .site-header .site-branding-container {
        max-width: 25%;
    }

    .header-sidebar {
        display: box;
        box-align: center;
        -moz-box-sizing: border-box;
        -webkit-box-sizing: border-box;
        box-sizing: border-box;
        display: -webkit-flex;
        display: flex;
        -webkit-align-items: center;
        align-items: center;
        float: left;
        height: 112px;
        max-width: 25%;
        overflow: hidden;
        padding-right: 1.78571em;
    }

    .main-navigation {
        max-width: 50%;
    }

    Feel free to adjust the proportions. As you can see we’re going with site title, 25%, widget area, 25%, nav 50% max width.

    Add your widgets at Appearance > Widgets > Header.

    Check the responsive behaviour. I’m sure we’ll need to make some further CSS changes. Check it all out and let me know.

    There shouldn’t be any issues with the child theme as I developed it locally. On the off chance you have a problem like a white screen issue you can recover by logging into your server via FTP and navigating to /wp-content/themes/ and deleting the “ultra-child” folder. Very unlikely there will be a problem, just including this note in case 🙂

    Hey Andrew thanks for the speedy reply. So when i try uploading the child theme, it doesn’t let me upload the whole folder, only individual files like: “functions.php” “header.php” ect. Do i not need to upload the whole folder?

    For sure 🙂

    If you’re using Safari then it’s possible that it’s auto unzipping the file as you download it. Here is how to stop Safari doing that: https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=31919091. You could also just use another browser to download the ZIP file. From there you can upload the ZIP file from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload. It does need to be a compressed folder, yes.

    Hope that helps 🙂

    That did the trick! Also, on my page i added this code:

    /* WooCommerce */

    .woocommerce .entry-header {
      display: none;
    }

    to get rid of the unnecessary banners that display the page name. But the content starts way to close to the header now and I’m wondering if there is a way to add some spacing between the header and the main part of my page. You can see what i am talking about here: http://www.merchvintage.com/?post_type=product
    As you can see it looks a little awkward having the page start that close to the header. IS there a way to change this?

    Hey Andrew! I’m having some more troubles. I think the site header is now to big for the site. When displaying the site it doesn’t fit the browser window and forces a horizontal scrolling bar. There is now a grey bar at the the right side of the page that extends to the bottom of the page because the header is too large. The “MERCH VINTAGE” heading title is cut off as well.
    Also, i just downloaded this plugin: ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-social-media-plus/ ) to display my social media icons in the newly created header widget area, but whenever i hover over the icon, the header text and menu becomes blurry.

    Hi Alex

    Thanks for the wait. We can continue chatting via email but for reference purposes, to remove the WooCommerce page title I recommend:

    1. Remove the Custom CSS you’ve already used:

    /* WooCommerce */

    .woocommerce .entry-header {
      display: none;
    }

    2. Instead, insert into Custom CSS:

    /* WooCommerce */

    .woocommerce.archive .entry-header {
      display: none;
    }

    .woocommerce.archive.sidebar #primary {
    	border: none;
    	width: 100%;
    }

    .woocommerce.archive.sidebar #secondary {
      display: none;
    }

    .woocommerce.archive.sidebar .site-content > .container {
    	padding-top: 3.57143em;
    }

    Also, for references purposes, the same question is discussed here. In that thread I also offer a child theme solution for users wanting to remove the title code and not just hide with CSS.

    Thanks 🙂
