Hi, dleonte —
What you’re supposed to put in parentheses is not a number (the plugin will take care of that for you), but the source that you’re citing. Try that and see if that works.

I have tried what you suggested in both Visual and HTML views.
Recognition that we have, in large part the cure for cancer right now. Various studies, including the 2010((President’s Cancer Panel))
Nothing happened??? What am I missing?
Have you used this plugin?
Thank you for the suggestion. I am really feeling dumb now. I installed simple-footnotes.
Added the short code to my text:
Recognition that we have, in large part the cure for cancer right now. Various studies, including the 2010 [ref] President’s Cancer Panel [/ref], have said cancer is an environmental disease.
Result: I lost the President’s Cancer Panel inbetween the short codes.
See below:
Recognition that we have, in large part the cure for cancer right now. Various studies, including the 2010 1, have said cancer is an environmental disease.
I appreciate your taking the time. Can you suggest what I may be doing wrong?
Thank you
Can you click on the 1 and go to the footnote? (Actually, if you can link to the page, that may help…)
If you look here: http://code.ipstenu.org/2011/seo-experts-lie-about-backlinks/#return-note-1436-1 you can see examples of the plugin at work.If you click on the 1 it takes you to the bottom of the page.
Thanks Ipstenu. I did not make myself clear. What I really meant to say was subscript, not footnote. I want to be able to enter a subscript to my text.
AHHH! That is, indeed, totally different 😀

should work (though I’m not sure how that’d work on the visual editor). Also it won’t show up on RSS that I’m aware of.
Thank you so much for taking the time. This works fine for my needs.
