Hi, this is a cool plugin and I am interested in buying the pro version, but my specific needs require captcha integration for Solve Media. My website gives away real currency as prizes and therefore is highly prone to being targeted by bots and hackers. I am lightly comfortable with coding, but I am wondering what the best way to integrate Solve Media with the wheel would be. Thanks!

    Hi @jaykdoe,

Unfortunately, we don’t integrate with Solve Media captcha’s. To integrate it with the wheel, you’re looking at custom-coding I’m afraid. Contact us through our website (studiowombat.com) if you’d like to explore that option further.

Sorry I can’t be of more help!

Thank you very much for the prompt response. I will contact you through your website to discuss this possibility and get a better understanding of what it might take to make this a reality. It does sounds like captcha integration might be widely used, considering the higher rate of abuse in gamified apps such as this…It definitely is something to consider. Thanks again.

A little tip for you – why annoy your users and visitors with captchas and recaptchas? Some of these are functioning but a good spammer has captcha solvers galore.
Even recaptcha2 was easily hacked by Russians, and Google knows it and uses for its own services a different solution, lol.

I suggest you get the WP Spamshield plugin [it’s now a premium plugin on codecanyon, but affordable and well worth its price].

Once I tried it I got rid of Akismet and any captcha plugins on all my sites.
It is amazing and protects everything on your site – logins, forms of all sorts [incl GF], comments, eCom checkout forms.

Simple to use [nothing actually needs a config unless you want to disable its protective support for some reason for something] and even provides a basic contact form shortcode, so if you don’t need fancy forms and your theme does not include a form script, this covers the contact page and or footer form needs.

The only false positives I ever get on my sites are when spammers do manual submissions or with very advanced techniques to fake user-agents [and their history], submit innocent text without spammy words and without links – but even these are seldom bypassing this plugin’s protection.

@tekgirlymama, thanks for the suggestion! I just saw your reply today and am looking into this right now, it looks like a great solution. Even though I’m not exactly sure how it works, I’m probably going to give it a shot. Thanks again!

you’re most welcome, thanks for your kind words. WP Spamshield needs no configurations 🙂 I use it on every site I make. No spam no people getting annoyed.

You might look into Elementor Pro page and theme builder. They have forms and also dynamic parameters can be passed to TY page etc. Check out their video and tuts on this also if you need a way to protect a page with some overlay pop – if you can use the wheel via shorcode you vcan add it to elementor pop overlay and condition it closing by optin and wp spamshied protects form.

oh and if you want ultimate security seeing you mentioned you’re a target for bots etc – I use a cocktail of security plugins like:
    WP Spamshield,
    Apocalypse Meow
    Blackhole for Bad Bots
    Block Bad Queries (BBQ)
Webcraftic Clearfy – WordPress optimization plugin
    Webcraftic Hide login page

    And BackupBuddy for backups.
CloudFlare [free account] with free SSL certificate and tweaks for speed and security. CF works well with WP Rocket caching plugin and Webcraftic’s Robin Image Optimizer.
