How best to structure, import data from Drupal
-
hello,
Really well done plugin. I have a general question for you if you don’t mind regarding how data would be imported and utilized with the plugin…
We have an existing site currently in Drupal and the idea is to move it into WP which is in process.
Two directories, one of camps and the other of general resources.
Each one has various fields as in name, location, etc etc. (10-15 each) that would seem to be best to import via CSV into WP. Couple thousand entries in one and 50 or so in the other directory.
Question is how best to proceed far as structuring data. I can see how I can create 2 custom post types (Camps, Resources) and multiple custom fields for each in WP that could match up to the Drupal fields pretty well. And then import a CSV file that could work to get the data into WP.
Or should it not be custom fields but a custom taxonomy? The data is less a matter of subcategories than various criteria to search and organize.
I’m using WCK – Custom Fields and Custom Post Types Creator which seems like it will work.
Just trying to get a sense of how best to approach this as working with how best to structure this data is somewhat new for me.
Again, thank you for your time.
