Just today I had to move my blog from BlogHarbor because it was taking upwards of thirty seconds to load – even though it was on a “server farm.”

I have to repost all of my articles, and can’t figure out how to post something without is bubbling to the top. I actually posted my latest article, but have upwards of a hundred others to transfer – and I don’t want the oldest articles on top. I am just learning WordPress and am lost…

I would also like to know how to make one of the posts a “sticky.”

    Thanks

    JAC

Even if you move a blog, you don’t have to repost hundreds of articles. Did you manage to have a database backup?
    See more details: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

(but if you repost them manually, start with the oldest…)

Regarding manually: In Manage:Posts you can change the date/time of a post…

For a ‘sticky’ there are some plugins available, I remember one named, appropriately, adhesive.

The service I had at BlogHarbor was proprietary software – so I will have to post manually. I thought I had at least 24 hours to make the switch – but I was live within an hour of changing the name servers, which was shocking. Oh well, guess my Blog will lokk a little weird for a while until I figure this out. I appreciate the input.

If you can’t import the posts from database > database, then just repost them and back-date each post to when it was originally posted. Write > Post > Edit Timestamp
