Support » Plugin: WP Super Cache » how about a url parameter?

  • i don’t know if this exists (still searching) but if not i think it would a great idea if i could add a parameter to the url aka

    http://www.example.com/?cache=off

so i can temporarily view a un-cached version of the page.
this is great for developers since in WordPress i sometimes
cant add a NOCACHE into the php file which is responsible of
    displaying a lot of pages…

on the other hand clearing all the cache to test a small change
is problematic for shared hosting and has a toll on the server.

Does something like this currently exists in wp-super-cache ?

There is such a thing. On the Advanced settings page look for the “DO NOT CACHE PAGE secret key” and use that to see an uncached page.

Thanks for the fast reply mate.
    i really apreaciate that.

    (then maybe a feature suggestion… )

i searched how to do that… i have a custom field firing at the head
part (wp_head)… can i enter that code there?

What is the recommended way to use that secret key?

The key is for your own testing to view an uncached page. If you need to keep a portion of your page dynamic you need to do something like this:
