Support » Plugin: Strong Testimonials » Hover CSS not updated to match SVG icons

Hi There, one of your recent updates changed the icons for next/previous/paging to an SVG image format, rather than FontAwesome. Unfortunately you forgot to also update the CSS for the :hover actions on these.

The CSS should be altering the SVG background property on hover, but instead is still trying to change the font colour on the parent link.

    Hello @shaunbowen

Thanks you for reaching us !

It would help us a lot to send us the URL of the page where Strong Testimonials is with the problem.
And I would like a screenshot from Testimonials -> Views.
    Thank you for understanding !

Please let me know if you have some more questions !

    Have a nice day ! 🙂

    Warmly,
    Marian

Hi Marian, it isn’t a specific site it is every time I install the latest version of the plugin.

To replicate the issue, add some testimonials and make a slideshow view using ‘Unstyled’ and have next/prev buttons visible.

When you hover over the next/prev button, it doesn’t change colour as the CSS is not changing the SVG background, it is changing the font colour. And since the icon is now an SVG, not a FontAwesome character, this old behaviour is not applicable.

The incorrect hover style is found at line 128 in the following CSS file:

    /wp-content/plugins/strong-testimonials/public/css/slider-controls-sides-buttons.css

    Hello @shaunbowen ,

    Thank you for explaining!
It might be an issue caused by a plugin or your theme.
I recommend installing this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
After you install and activate the above plugin it has a Troubleshooting mode which allows you to have a vanilla WordPress session, where all plugins are disabled, and a default theme is used, but only for your user – your visitors will still see the normal website.

Go to its troubleshoot mode and only activate Strong Testimonials and see if it works correctly with a default WordPress theme (Twenty Nineteen for example) and no other plugins.

Please let me know how it goes and what you find

    All the best,
    Marian

    Hi Marian,

Don’t worry, I have already added my own custom CSS to add a hover style back to the next/prev arrows so there is no issue my end.

I just wanted to make you guys aware that there was a bit of styling missed when you updated the plugin. Hopefully it will be something picked up by your team during future updates.

    I’ll mark as resolved.
