    Hi,

We have about 800 products and on a daily basis ~10 products have updates. I would like to understand the CPU or any other resource usage of the feed refreshes. If we want to increase the frequency from daily to hourly, what kind of resources we should ensure to have in place to avoid slowing down our website?

As a follow up; Refresh only when products changed we do not have this selected, if we do does it mean only the ~10 updated products would be updated so that we would need less resources for each feed refresh?

    Cheers,
    Reha

One more question, when we pick daily or twice daily I vaguely remember there was an option to set what time of the day the job will run however it does not seem available now. Am I remembering / checking wrongly? 🙂

    Hi Reha,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

The feature “Refresh only when product changed” will prevent your feed from being refreshed at the set intervals when no products have been added or no change to existing products has been registered. So in your case, when you update 10 products a day this feature will not be that helpful.

Now with regards to your resource question. This is a hard question to answer as it really depends on a lot of factors, just to name a few:

    • What other heavy plugins your are using
    • Your current hardware and hostingplan
    • Your server configuration limitations
    • The number of attributes and values you have set

So there isn’t a clear answer to your question. Now that being said, a feed of just 800 products is not that big so I do not really anticipate performance issues with it on an average WooCommerce install.

There is not option to change the times of the daily / twicedaily refresh interval.

Assuming the issue at hand has been resolved and/or our help is no longer required I am going to close this topic for now for housekeeping reasons. Do not hesitate to reach out to us when you need support again.
