• Hi there,

My hotlinking protection rules do not work while your plugin is enabled. I have confirmed by deactivating your plugin that they do in fact work as intended before coming here for help.

I have the plugin set up with MaxCDN and have the relevant referrer sites whitelisted there and that part is working. However, images can still be hotlinked using the original server address (not the CDN address) where the files are actually hosted. So I need to set up local rules for hotlinking in addition to the rules covered by MaxCDN.

I have contacted my hosting company for assistance after trying with no luck to get the hotlinking rules to work. They eventually found that there is a conflict in the rules written by W3 Total Cache and the hotlinking rules in my .htaccess file.

Can you provide any suggestions on how I can make the hotlinking protection work in conjunction with your plugin?

I look forward to your reply & appreciate your time in response.

    Best regards,
    Leanne

I have the same issue. My MaxCDN “whitelist” is working as the pullzone URL is protected. But images can be hotlinked using the URL from the WP site with the original permalink.

I see there have been no replies to your post. Have you found a workaround or solution for this issue? Let me know either way.

I have submitted this issue to W3TC as a new feature in upcoming releases. Hopefully, I will hear something back.

I have tried many times to add code to htaccess to prevent hotlinking of images from the original server URL with absolutely no luck. Each time I have cleared cache and purged pullzone, so there is no doubt that the added code is refreshed.

Blocking the Pull Zone URL works fine with the CDN Whitelist, but something is preventing the blocking of images from the site URLs.

It seems to me if W3TC integrates with MAX CDN, then W3TC should have all images using the original server URLs point to and pull from the Pull Zone URL. So the only source of media is from the pull zone, Right?

Any response or insights would be appreciated.
