hotec theme text editor plugin, problem

Hi thanks ahead of time for any help. I am trying to get a plug in that will add text editing and insert a pic etc. I cant get them into widgets on this hotec theme. I ahve gone to the edit theme after displaying my home page in the dashboard. in the edit section i have choices of widgets by clicking the add button and the widget appears for editing. In these widgets i can not insert a picture… i cant get a text editor such as tinymce to work in them. I did get it to work in my footer though.
Any help or suggestions please
