• Hello. I’ve followed the five-minute installation instructions to the tee. Two days later I still can’t get WordPress going. I’m running on a Mac if that makes a difference. Unfortunately my hosting company has very little support and it’s impossible to get in touch with them by chat or by phone. Someone had recommended deleting the image.html file. I do and it’s still not working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Are you sure that they didn’t mean the index.html file? That’s normally the one that you need to delete to remove the hosting companies place-holder page.

They may have. I deleted the only index file I could find. It was in the web/content folder.

The hosting company said I should change the name servers, which I did, but this didn’t help either.

Everything appears to be php rather than html in my root directory. I created an index.html “test” in the root and it shows up fine. Attempting a reinstall of wordpress app from the godaddy side to see if that makes a difference. May take a while Kevin, -will let you know the result…

Yes, now WordPress has control. That was frustrating, my guess is godaddy populates the domain first and overides the preload of a WP install. All good now with a second app install over the first.

Oh and as a fellow mac user – don’t use Safari if you are doing theme install – use Firefox, Safari doesn’t show your real time edits.

Yep, quite happy now, hope it works for you!
