Hosting installation problems

    Often I run into problems with the automated wordpress installation through a hosting service that runs Fantastico. Especially updating can be such a nightmare, the entire wp has to be reinstalled to solve issues. The sad fact is that there is no reverse button for this, which could save weeks of work.

    I’ve now gone through the same nightmare trying to update 2.8 to latest version and have given up and finally simply uninstalled WP and reinstalled it again.

    But every time this happens ALL THE LINKS and RRS feeds that I had in my original blog never saves in the export…. Hours of work and research to find these links and topics are wasted. Its very frustrated. Why do the links disappear with the export feature?
