I currently use Go Daddy for domain names and want to know if their web hosting supports macs,as they mention only Windows and Linux.

If your domain is hosted (not to be confused with registered) at Godaddy, you will want to use one of their Linux plans.

What you use for your local computer to access your site (or host via FTP) should not be confused with the operating system the host is running.

Michael's right, the computer that you're using at home doesn't matter. Macs and PCs can all access Go Daddy services.

Also, WordPress works great with either Linux or Windows, but you need to make sure that you're using IIS7 if you have a Windows account. The IIS setting is something you configure the very first time you setup the hosting account.

Do Not do this at godaddy - use linux! Huge problems with the windows server set ups - despite what mister godaddy says

So if i have a Mac, why bother choosing a Windows account and having to configure settings and all that? If you don't have to change any settings, shouldn't we (Mac users) choose Linux accounts by default?

Is there any thing important I cannot do with Linux that I could in Windows?
