Next time you use a plugin, please check the description, tutorial and warning messages more carefully.

I didn’t work on this for years for the pleasure to destroy installs, I am not that evil. It works, but it’s a tool, it’s not a magic wand.

Seriously? It scans for images and reports that they are not in use, while they are on my front page. I don’t think I should read the description, I think you should redesign the plugin. It’s not doing what it’s supposed to do.

Does these images have references to the database or are hard-coded in the theme?

@haste18 How do you know what it is supposed to do without even reading the description, and the tutorial? Depending on the settings, it could indeed detect everything. There are many options for a reason, and warning messages as well. To be honest, I think it’s a serious lack of respect for the developer. This is the result of years of hard work and working with many users.

Jordy, I don’t mean to be disrespectful. I’m sure you work hard. It’s just my opinion and I think I’m entitled to that.

It worked great for me. I read the instructions, backed up my sites and ran it. No issues. I will say however, I examed the files first and selected them individually (as opposed to the “delete all” Option) for deletion. I did this with multiple sites with add on and primary hosting and it worked perfectly.

    Just saying.

Yeah. I agree. Read the instructions, backup, and test before just hitting delete all. Also, it you can specify to move the trash. Basically, it works and you need to be aware of anything that deletes. Take precautions and this will help clean up and remove wasted space in your media library.

    It doesn’t actually work though.

It can’t seem to figure out ACF Flexible Content fields. It deletes anything it can’t find.

It’s like hitting your website with a massive hammer.

Plus the developer (if you can call him that, there are Headers already sent errors all over the shop) admits he’s trying to do an impossible thing.

It’s not impossible. It just takes a bit more skill than you have to pull off.

    Rewrite it. Do it properly.

That’s called a bug/issue, or something that is not supported yet simply because I don’t know about it.

I doubt there are headers already sent error everywhere, please prove it first, before lacking respect to someone. That’s too easy to do. There are a lot of users of this plugin, which are happy. That issue only happens to you currently and maybe you have an issue. I am not sure why you are being so condescending.

Detecting the usage of files is very difficult. That is why there are no plugins like this.

If it’s not compatible with ACF Flexible Content Fields, the best is to let the developer know. The Forum is exactly made for that, it’s not to discuss the weather but actual issues with plugins.

    Rewrite it. Do it properly.

I shouldn’t comment. But the plugin has been rewritten many times to achieve the level of performance it has today. And not by only one developer, I was helped by many others. You don’t only insult me here, but also a lot of developers/users which are present on those forums and contributed to it and to a larger sense to the whole WP community.

That said, thanks for your feedback about ACF Flexible Content, you should have just contacted me nicely about it so that I can support it. Would have been much simpler and agreeable.
