When I trigger the video popup on mobile, there is an infinite amount of horizontal scrolling that the plugin allows.

The javascript appears to keep centering the video as I scroll to the right, so it keeps increasing(and allowing) space to the right.

The transparent overlay stays on top of the page content to the left, but I’m able to scroll to the right infinitely outside of the bounds of the actual page.

On desktop screen sizes it’s not a problem—no horizontal scrolling is allowed.

Any idea how I can fix this? I tried adding overflow: hidden to the overlay and the video wrapper, but didn’t work. Maybe disabling the javascript that’s adjusting the position of the video will force the horizontal scrolling to stop?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, I checked the URL above in my Android phone. I was not able to play any of the two videos. Can you carry out a test. Can you test one of WordPress default themes, like Twenty Seventeen. Let me know what happens.

    Regards

@mbrsolution I can’t test on the default theme at the moment because this is a live site. The videos play fine for me on iPhone, but the horizontal scrolling is really the issue. It doesn’t appear to be a theme issue because I’m able to play the videos fine. It’s just that scrolling issue on mobile. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Hi, I understand what you mean. However I have no way of testing this issue in my mobile phone running Android. It just won’t play. In my humble opinion, you should ask a friend or relative with an Android phone to carry out a test. I am curious to know if the videos play in an Android phone.

    Kind regards

Well if you’re saying they don’t play on Android, then I believe you. I probably don’t need someone else to test that.

But you shouldn’t need to play the video to see the scrolling problem, right? Does it pop up for you at all when clicking on the video thumbnail?

Hi, there is no scrolling issue in my android phone when I view the page with the videos. However your issue is related to when you play the videos. And unfortunately I can’t test that action because the videos won’t play in my android phone.

    Kind regards

The video does not need to be playing for the scrolling issue to happen. You only need to click on the video thumb and the video will pop up, but not auto-play.

Can you test in a Desktop browser with Inspector(Cmd+Opt+I)? The same problem happens in a thin browser mimicking mobile. You don’t need to be on an actual mobile device.

Hi, I tested the web page using two different browsers and I did not see any scrolling issues. I click on the play button, the videos popped up and played, no scrolling issues. I also reduced the browser size to mimic a mobile device.

Not sure what to tell you. What browsers did you try?

    My tests:
    Safari: https://cl.ly/2c02f9171547
    Firefox: https://cl.ly/a390eaa7cac9
    Chrome: https://cl.ly/7dcb7a5db34d

All browsers play the video fine, but have the scrolling issue when the video lightbox opens(your plugin). My client brought this to my attention in the first place, so it’s happening elsewhere as well.

Hi, I just did another test using Firefox 61.0.2 (64-bit) using Windows 10. I am using an Acer laptop. I set Firefox to Responsive Design Mode and I was able to click on the play button, the video popped up and played. There was no scrolling option.

    Kind regards

Since it now pops up and plays, and you previously said it didn’t do that, did you try to scroll to the right while the video is up?

As I mentioned above it does play in my laptop but not in my android phone. So unfortunately I can’t carry out this test.

    You are most welcome.

However since it does not play in my android phone, if I were you I would ask a friend or relative with an Android phone to carry out a test because I am curious to know if the videos play in Android phones.

    Kind regards
