  • i just setupa new wordpress site with the theme “fifteen”

It looks and works great on PC, but when testing on mobile is when i noticed an issue.

    no horizontal scrollbar appears.
It doesnt appear on PC either, but that wasnt noticeable until I resized the website really small… horizontal scroll bar appears

not only does the scrollbar not appear, but you also can’t finger drag to resize on mobile either

Everything else about this theme works great, so i’m hoping its a quick fix

any help would be more than appreciated

  • You should try asking your question on the Fifteen support page. It doesn’t look like the theme author is very responsive to questions, though, but you might be able to find a fellow theme-user to help you out. It also helps if you post a link to your site, so we can see the effect without having to install the theme ourselves.

The theme you selected is responsive. Please research responsive design. Your theme is designed to prevent horizontal scrolling. It is doing what it was designed to do. There is nothing wrong with it.

In that case I have a jw video player added to a ‘page’ and on mobile you can only see half of it. Sure you can double tap to go full screen but you cant zoom out or scroll over. You can only see the left half 50% of the video and the other half is cutoff

jw video player may not be responsive. There a plugin called fitvids that can make youtube videos responsive. I’m not sure if it will work for you. Here is the link
    good luck

I found this article for making jw video responsive.

But I’m talking about the entire page. You can zoom in but not out on mobile. I want the video left how it is

I’m guessing it has something to do with meta viewport but I can’t find it do you know where the setting is in the code

Does not scroll left and right on mobile

    But this does

    Please help

The view port is usually set with the following meta tag:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">. This prevents the user from zooming in and out of the screen. Ideally, your screen shouldn’t scroll horizontally. The whole idea behind responsive design is to resize the screen to fit the device it being presented on. It would be better if the videos were scaled down to fit the user screen.
