Most well-behaved webservers have an outbound email server built in.
That Easy SMTP plugin is for servers that don’t offer that or the outbound email is broken.
I’m not sure Google would allow a server to use their SMTP service outbound. You’ll need to talk with them but I’d just ask these questions of the support facilities for your SMTP plugin. That’s the best source.
Oh, on the horizontal menu… “Why?”, is my first question. They usually look silly to me and if they grow long they’ll require scrolling to make full use of them.
Create the menu manually and stuff it into the sidebar (‘Ewww!’ to sidebar menus, as opposed to a couple pertinent links in a sidebar).
Learn to modify themes and you can do whatever you wish.
If you really require this horizontal menu and can’t do it yourself…
You might find a theme that provides that feature.
You might find a theme that provides that feature and excise the code for it into your preferred theme.
You might hire a developer to add that to the theme for you.
Else, you might pay the Pro Fee to get to use that feature. Sometimes a good business decision requires a small expense in time or money.
