[resolved] Honeypot? (2 posts)

My client hates captchas and has asked me to implement a honeypot-style spambot trap in the form. Is this possible with your plugin? I am evaluating it as a possible plugin for a build I am planning.

Basic functionality of a honeypot is using display: none; in the css (for the particular form field) and then if the form field gets filled out, then assuming it is a spambot and disabling the submit function.

I can easily do this for nonWP sites but I am still exploring WP capabilities.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

This type of spam protection should be doable by customizing this piece of javascript: http://formidablepro.com/knowledgebase/javascript-examples/#kb-conditionally-disable-the-submit-button

We use Akismet on our site and it does a really good job of filtering out spam without the need for a captcha.
