  • Not sure what to think. I will most likely be switching platforms wherever possible.

Clients were confused when I had this installed and they’ve never used WordPress before. Once I uninstalled they seemed more comfortable editing.

That being said, this plugin seems to have no affect on my CPTs. All of my CPTs still seem to use the classic editor (is that intentional)?

Also, every place that I have my editors through ACF seemed intact.

Is using this plugin really a good simulation of what editing with Gutenberg is going to be like?

  • Your CPTs are ok, probably because such things can be configured in a way that they don’t conform to certain requirements needed for Gutenberg to activate. In these instances WordPress will fallback to the current editor. From what I hear ACF is mostly compatible (maybe completely so) with Gutenberg.

What you are seeing now with Gutenberg, warts and all, is what is intended.

Gutenberg is still developing rapidly and changing often but the current work is mostly focused on reported compatibility issues & feedback from people actively using the editor on their websites.

There are no new features being added so it’s a good overall simulation & will definitely allow you investigate issues like use of CPTs in detail as you did.
