    Hi, i uploaded the theme elegent writing to the page above and then proceeded to change the homepage image, i would like to remove the blue textbox(but leave the text) and also remve the white surrounding border on the second uploaded image of the same homepage image and a black line going accross the page saying no title#2
    I did try to remove them through css Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS then in the editor placed this code in

    input:focus{
    outline:non !important;
    }
    it didnt work
    then i wanted to use
    overlay {
    opacity:absolute;
    }
    but didnt proceed in case i was heading in the incorrect direction
    If someone could help it would be appreciated.

    Please let me know what to do rather than going into the website

    regards,

    czar

    You can try the following CSS:

    .site-branding, .site-main {background: none;}

    Hope it helps.

    would like to remove the blue textbox(but leave the text)

    If you’re referring to the text in the site header, use:

    .site-branding {
    background: transparent;
    }

    And if you want to remove the horizontal line below the text:

    p.site-description:before {
    display: none;
    }

    For the rest of your questions, I’d like you to first give some thought to the overall website, and not just the homepage.

    and a black line going accross the page saying no title#2

    The black horizontal one is meant to hold NAVIGATION MENU LINKS to help people navigate through your website. The text “no title #2” is there because you didn’t give any title to your page.

    If you make this bar transparent, it will be difficult for your site’s visitors to read your navigation links. So it’s better to change this background color to something else that would blend in better with the rest of your site — rather than making it completely transparent.

    The CSS code below will change this black line to red. This is only meant to be a placeholder for you: change the color to whatever you want.

    nav#site-navigation {
    background: red;
    }

    If you don’t want to have a navigation menu at all, use the code below to hide that whole section completely.

    nav#site-navigation {
    display: none;
    }

    remve the white surrounding border on the second uploaded image of the same homepage image and a black line going accross the page saying no title#2

    Just as with the black background, the white background is meant to provide some contract so the text on the page can be read. You may change the color from white to something else, but completely removing the background color will make it very difficult to read whatever text you add on the page.

    Below is a screenshot of your website with all the requested changes done. I removed the black menu background and added some dummy menu links. I also removed the white foreground of the content area, and added some text below the image. As you can see, it’s difficult to read the text, and the site overall doesn’t look great at all.

    Hi George,
    thank you very muck fo the css code and for modifying the homepage.
    Yes your correct it actually doesnt look good at all, but i actually only wanted the 1 image covering the entire page(rather than 3) but 2017 WP theme, according to the host wouldnt allow the change to occur. So i downloaded the elegent writing theme which did allow the new image.
    I also wanted to rearrange the navigation menu so that it is located at the bottom (on blue section 2021 RVP wordpress design etc)
    The only things i wanted there are, login and about as radio bottons.
    Unfortunately i am only 10% through my front end engineers course (with codcademy)so im really new, and with a noisey study environment and work etc, its taking its toll on me.
    If you could suggest, anywhere that i can have a muckaround website which i can see the effects of my code as i do it with some pointers by tech people, so it would help me to visually see the code….id appreciate it….(i saw that you have a hosting platform i would be happy to have a go on it if i can get some pointers about how to, things, by that i mean, tap here, click there, write this code to see the effect etc).

    The study at codecademy is good, but i found the way they go about it difficult at times. Unfortunately my background is not computing…so it like trying to learn heiroglyphs at times(but getting better)…..

    This website will be invite only when its set up with, specific info,

    thankyou george,

    hi,
    the website reversed back to the obstructions, so i placed the CSS code in as you suggested. All of it worked as mentioned except, the code to remove the line under the text.

    p.site-description:before {
    display: none;
    },

    It did work when you used it but not for me ? (might have been the order that i placed the code in?)any other suggestions.

    Also how do i remove the middle an bottom image from the homepage? Ive tried a few things but all that happens is that all 3 images go and i have a blank homepage. If is the theme page i can change it(as the website has no content yet)

    regards,

    czar
