    Hi,

I’ve been uploading banners on my pages and it worked for all of them with the same process expect for one page where I get this message: “Homepage view is disabled on advanced settings”. The home page seems ok to me. I can’t find a solution to this problem.
    Here’s a page with the banner: http://www.maybesheknows.com/?page_id=139
Here’s the one where I get the message: http://www.maybesheknows.com/?page_id=141

Through my dash board I can see the error message under the “Did You Know?” paragraph.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Simona

  • It looks like you have the Virtue theme v2.4.2, but the current version is 2.6.7. That’s a lot of fixes. I can’t say that updating will fix the problem, but its a reasonable step to try.

Thank you, I fixed it deleting and recreating the widget.

I’ve tried to update the version, but I’ve lost everything on my website last week, luckily the hosting company has managed to restore everything. How do I do the update without loosing everything?

    Many thanks.

Updating a theme did not cause that problem. All your data, posts, settings, etc. are stored in the database. The theme would not erase your database.

I see, that’s what the hosting company said, but to be honest I believe you.

I guess the only way to know is try to update again. You need to stay with the most current versions to keep your site safe. Always keep a back up of the database and the wp-content/uploads folder.
