Homepage Timing Out – Maximum Execution Time Exceeded

  • Hi there, I’m looking for some help with a problem I’m having. I recently installed the “limited categories” plugin which lets you specify which categories users can post to. Anyhow, Shortly after installing this plugin I noticed my homepage was timing out and I was getting this error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in /home/18168/domains/iimusic.net/html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 144

Figuring it might have something to do with the plugin I just installed, I deactivated and delete it. The problem persists. I’ve tried deactivating all my plugins and the problem continues to exist.

Does anyone have an idea as to what this could be / what I’ve done?

    my homepage is here: http://www.iimusic.net/

    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

EDIT: I edited my PHP.ini to increase the maximum execution time and the error is gone, but now the page fails to load completely and still takes very long. I can’t help but wonder if the limit categories made some irreversible changes to something …
