    I have setup a wordpress website for a friend of mine.
    She s 40-ish and not very fond of fancy fonts / category names / tags.
    Still that should not interfere with how the thumbnails are (not) showing (properly) on the main page.

    I have setup to list the latest 7 reading posts on the homepage to show current problem : http://uaenglish.com/
    I have also made a printscreen with 9 posts (3 rows x 3 colums) to show the problem : http://i.imgur.com/CSIRQix.jpg

    I have check the posts tab : There are no empty posts > http://i.imgur.com/aUQQiom.png

    I have done the “[resolved] Homepage thumbnail titles align”

    1) Set the image size to be 100%. http://screencast.com/t/UZT1a61N8Ay

    .thumbnail-link img{
        width:100%;
    }

    but that doesn t solve the issue

    please tell me where or how to fix this ?

    Same issues

    one of my more-experienced friends said that my problem comes from the fact that the generated thumbnails are not a fixed size, but rather a proportionally downsized version of the original featured photos.
    the original featured photos are various formats 4×3 / 16×9 / 4×4 => the generated thumbnails had different sizes and the divs occupied different spacing

    so the non-code-invasive solution was… to just use one fixed size (900px by 600px) for all the featured photos => thus the generated thumbnails would all be the same size => no more headache.

    i have tried a few fixed size thumbnail plugins but without any success.

    ps. you may follow up this thread with some fancy coding that worked for you
