Homepage slideshow stopped working

I upgraded to WP 4.1.1 in February 2015 and ever since, my homepage slideshow & the NextGen thumbnail galleries I originally implemented on select pages with shortcode [nggallery id=X] no longer work.

After some troubleshooting, I’ve found that my HomePage slideshow will work if I disable “NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati”. But, when I do this, the NextGen Thumbnail galleries on select pages will not appear/work. On the pages w/NextGen Thumbnail Gallery, the following message appears on the page…

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Mixin::initialize() in /www/hdtheagency.com/web/home/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_gallery/package.module.nextgen_basic_gallery.php on line 414

There’s in error in code on these pages…

I may be able to fix this by adding a $ between the parenthesis after ‘function($)’. Unsure how to edit the source code. Any advice?

Furthermore, when I do activate NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati I can only get the NextGEN Basic ImageBrowser gallery option to work on select pages. I prefer NextGEN Basic Thumbnails but it will not work. It’s much easier for clients to browse my website if the Thumbnail Gallery can be used.

Any advice on how to fix my homepage slideshow w/NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati activated AND how to fix the NextGEN Basic Thumbnails gallery for select pages?

@hdtheagency – Have you tried re-installing NextGEN Gallery, it seems something may be corrupted in the installation that is causing all of these possible problems.

Go under Plugins > Installed Plugins and use the deactivate and delete options for NextGEN Gallery. Then go under Plugins > Add New … Search for “NextGEN Gallery” and re-install/re-activate the plugin.

Yes, I’ve done as you suggested on two occasions and the same problems persist each time.

@hdtheagency – Can you provide a link to the page where you are seeing these errors, perhaps a first-hand look might provides some suggestions for additional troubleshooting steps to take.

First page would be http://www.hdtheagency.com/home/
The main image is actually a slide show. It worked before w/NextGen but when I updated to WP 4.1.1 it stopped. The slideshow presentation will only work now if I deactivate the NextGen plug in.

This page http://www.hdtheagency.com/home/editorials/ shows an example of the issues I’m having with NextGen Thumbnail Gallery not appearing. Again, it worked fine before I updated to WP 4.1.1. The only NextGen gallery that I can get to work other pages like this is NextGen Basic Image Browser.

My homepage slideshow may not be working anymore due to the following update posted in December 2014.

Flash slideshow support has been removed from NextGEN Gallery. Please see this blog post for more information.

@hdtheagency – The only way we can see error occurring is if the plugin’s installation has been corrupted by something. The steps that have been taken would have cleared any other possibilities we can currently think of.

We will likely need to get a closer look under the page at your site to do anything further with troubleshooting. Please send us a Bug Report (http://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) and include log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation with your Bug Report, too.

The problem with my NextGen Thumbnail Gallery has been fixed.

My hosting company moved my website to a server w/a newer version of php.
This fixed the problem.

Still no slideshow on homepage but that seems to be because NextGen disabled the support of Flash Slideshows.

@hdtheagency – The flash version of the Slideshow was removed but it should degrade gracefully into the jQuery version. You may need to re-insert the slideshow in some cases depending on how you inserted it.
