    Hi. I’m having problems with my “homepage” on my website. I want it to display my most recent posts. I have it set to do so in the settings, then reading tab in the dashboard. When you type my website in (ex. http://www.mywebsite.com), everything is great, my most recent posts are there, everything is as it should be. BUT when you click on the “home” button I’ve made in my menus then everything changes and the most recent posts go away. Also, the webpage now says this instead (ex. http://www.mywebsite.com/home). Why can’t my “home” just be my default “home” webpage (ex.www.mywebsite.com)? I’ve tried everything and I’ve searched Google for hours and still no answer. I am new to WordPress and designing so I’m not comfortable with code so if someone can give me an easy fix I will be forever grateful! I feel like this is such an easy fix that I’m just overlooking. Thank you for your help!

    Hey,
    I came across your post. And went through your problem statement. I would love to help you out.
    let me know. Did you set home page static or just the latest post?
    Check it out.
    Go as follow
    1- Appearance
    2- Customizer
    3- HomePage Setting
    look here. What did you select?
    If you selected home page display as your *Latest post* then definitely the latest post display at from page and menu home page looks secondary.

    Hi! I know exactly what you are asking me. I selected to display “latest posts” and not static because that is what I want displayed. Are you saying I should select static instead??

    Hi Corbijo!
    There are three possibilities I can suggest you
    1-Yes, you have to make home page as static in order to show home page and some widget or advance plugin widget to show the latest post on the home.
    2- Or just instead of using the home page in menu just use I menu HOME(url redirect to the site url).
    3- In core home page need to just wp_query the latest post from DB

    Okay I would like to do what you are saying in number 2. How do I just make it wrap back to my Home URL. So in simpler terms, if someone is on a separate page and they click on my “HOME” button in the menu it just takes them to my http://www.mywebsite.com.

    Do as follow
    1- Appearance
    2-Menu
    3- instead of the page just create custom URL.
    4- Label it home put site URL.
    Do it and let me know. I hope so you will achieve what you want.

    I figured it out! Thank you so much Sajjad! WordPress wanted me to pay $75 to have them fix it and I knew it would just something I was over looking. Thanks again for all of your help, you have no idea how much I appreciate it!
