so I added some text to the Homepage FOOTER Code section and it appears on homepage as expected. But the problem is that it also appears on the pagination pages, like website.com/page/2/ etc. , which should not happen. Is it possible to fix this?

  • Hello @seowebua,

Thank you for choosing Head & Footer Code for your project!

Just to be sure I’m getting it right, you have set your WordPress to show blog posts on the homepage (not a static page), and then you have set the footer code under the section Head, body and footer code on Homepage in Blog Posts mode on HFC plugin settings.

Then you expecting to get that footer code injected on website.com but not on website.com/page/2/ no matter that is still blog posts homepage just not 1st but 2nd page?

If the above is correct, please let me know what you would expect to get injected as a footer code on 2nd blog posts homepage so I can see how to achieve that.

    Thank you in advance,
    Aleksandar

Hi Aleksandar, thanks for the swift response.

Yes that is correct: blog posts on the homepage and footer code under the section Head, body and footer code on Homepage in Blog Posts mode.

On pagination pages ( /2/ and so on ) I expect to NOT get “homepage” footer code injected, only global footer code (if there is one). This makes sense, as website can only have one homepage, on top level – which is website.com or “/” . All of the other pages should not contain information from “homepage section” as than it entirely defeats it’s purpose.

Hopefully you can find the way to fix this

@urkekg , not sure if you saw my reply, any thoughts on this issue?

    Hi @seowebua,

    Sorry for the delayed response.

I have one more question which will help me to properly update conditional logic.

If you set the Homepage in Blog Posts mode (HBP) behaviour to Replace (not Append), should we inject the HBP code on pagination pages (/2/ and so on) or don’t inject anything?

    Thanks,
    Aleksandar

I would say don’t inject anything.

On implementation, maybe just adding a simple check mark (or select list) like “Include (or Don’t) this code on pagination pages” would do the trick.

    Hello @seowebua,

Please try the new version 1.3.1. You’ll find it on the plugin settings page dropdown option On paged homepage and kindly change it to “Do not add on paged homepage“. Check the screenshot below.
