Homepage customization

Dear friends,
I need some help with my WordPress site (http://www.radici-press.net). The theme I’m using is FastNews (heavily modded), and old theme but it works good for my needs.
This is the official site of a french magazine. As you can see, the homepage is composed by the latest articles of our paper magazine, plus a right column with announcements and various widgets.

Now I need to add a video in the homepage.
Fact is, I don’t want a normal post with a video, but a new section (let’s call it “videos section”) to add just underneath the banner slider (the right column will stay unchanged).
Answer is: how can I do that? Can I just add a new “section” to the homepage without messing with the “latest articles” section?
Unluckly, I have no knowledge of PHP language (but I know HTML and CSS), that’s why I need your help.
I don’t mind even using a plug-in to do this, but I couldn’t find something useful.
Can someone please help me to handle this?
