Homepage – Archives

So when I type in my site address I am directed to a page with the word “Archives” posted above my content and below my banner, and I’m unsure how to remove this. I’ve searched and can’t see a post on here that specifically resolves it (apologies if I’ve missed an adequate answer). When I click on “Home” on the page I’m directed to then I am taken to the correct Home Page, but I would like this to be the case when typing in the URL or clicking on the page from a search engine. Could someone please advise?
