Home Static Page Layout

Hi,

I have started building my website with the Arcade Basic theme. Its a great theme and I especially like the large picture and title section on the front page.

The thing is I would like my front page just to consist of the big picture and not the remainder of the page (white section that displays posts/content). I have had a play around with the .php files but I cant seem to get rid of it without breaking the other pages on my site.

Anyone know the neccesary code that needs to be removed to do this/how I do it.
