Home page title on Google search results is wrong

    Hi,

    I have this problem actually on couple of my websites. Weird thing is that these sites are more SEO optimized than the other sites I have done but they work just fine.

    The home page title is wrong in the search results but this happens only on home page. When I search other pages the titles are what I have set them on Yoast plugin. I have been trying to figure this out but nothing has worked yet. Is this something Yoast can help with or could it just be Google that doesn’t want to show the title I have set?

    This is one of them: https://evogenom.com/
    If you search evogenom in Google it shows this as title:
    Evogenom: Geenitestit – Anna geenien kertoa

    It should be:
    Evogenom geenitestit liikuntaan, hyvinvointiin ja painonhallintaan

    If you check the source, the title is correct. But in search results it shows it wrong. Notice that it is wrong only in Finnish search results (Google search language set in Finnish). The page has two languages other being English. In English it shows the correct one…

    The title you enter in our snippet preview is a suggestion for Google. If you’ve crafted awesome titles for your blog posts, nothing is more annoying than Google showing another title for your site in the search results.

    Google’s generation of page title is completely automated. Google’s goal is to best represent and describe each result. They use a number of different sources to get this information. In doing so, they try to make the search results as relevant as possible. Due to this being handled on Google’s end, there is little you can do to force Google to display your preferred title.
