you can tryout some of the many great slideshow plugins out there to show off your products with cool sliding effects and big slides..
i would have to dig in myself now, but thats definetely the way to go..
hope this points in the right direction at least..
now, how to get an image into the slider:
firstly add a featured image for every product.. just edit each product and add your featured image in the option meta box for that.
then you can go to theme settings -> slideshow -> post type and choose products..
your latest 4 products should slide there now.
but: slideshow is quite buggy. although an update is on the way, there many cool slideshow plugins out there more than worth having a look at.
