Hi, I’m moving my sites from godaddy to siteground using the duplicator plugin and some sites move fine without issue but now I have the 2nd that has the same issue and the only thing they have in common now is the 404page plugin so I’m hoping you can help me? I had to deactivate the plugin as it was causing my sites’ thumbnail to not appear in an affiliate account setup and was also causing issues at so this is happening despite deactivating it. This strange issue is baffling me and siteground support as the sub pages open fine for…for example this page opens fine:
but the home pg for opens the wrong site:
    yet it was duplicated from
I found info that plugins can cause redirects and path issues for duplicator….I checked for Mis-configured config files (Mis-configured config file such as: wp-config.php, .htaccess or themes/functions.php) and found nothing odd. The 404page – your smart custom 404 error page
was deactivated in old site and checked the plugins and it’s still deactivated. Any ideas? Please help. Thanks!

Hi again: The other site with the same issue (displaying wrong home page) is which the home page redirects to (the site it was duplicated from). I thought since that happened moving would result in the correct home page but I get a blank one that the browser keeps trying to load over and over yet like the other 2 sites the subpages displays fine:
I think for now I’ll change the DNS for back to godaddy but maybe this sheds a clue as to the problem? I didn’t see anything odd with wp-config.php, .htaccess or themes/functions.php…but are there any other files the 404page plugin makes changes to that I could check? Any other ideas? Please let me know. Thanks! Chris

@casaucier – Ivan Atanasov here, I am part of the Senior Support Team at SiteGround.

It appears that this was not caused by this plugin. There were index.html files in the DirectoryRoot folders of the affected domains. In each index.html file there was a “meta refresh” code that was causing redirects to one of your domains.

It was causing a redirect loop, however, the problem is resolved now.

Thanks a lot @ivanatanasov. I’ve marked this as resolved.
