[resolved] Home page only not displaying in I.E. or Safari. (7 posts)

The site I am working on for a friend, communitysupportedfamilymedicine.com, is getting a 404 error on only the home page when displayed in Internet Explorer and Safari, but it is showing fine in Firefox. All of the other pages are sowing fine and the links seem to be working properly. It's just the home page.

I'm using the Colorway theme. I read a very old thread that said copying from Word can cause this, but Colorway uses a theme specific template for the home page and I did not copy/paste to this page. I've checked the other pages in the html pane on the page editor and don't see any extra code in there.

Please help! I'm totally new at this. Thanks!

FYI, I get the 404 error in Firefox and Safari and Chrome on a Mac. Perhaps you have a cached page locally... The site loads, but shows the error for page content.

:( BooHoo. I tried switching themes and them switching back, but still nothing. Could it have to do with the theme? I'm completely stumped.

If you don't have the same problem in the default theme, then it's likely a theme problem. You might try contacting the theme developers -- Ink Themes to see if they can help you.

  5. Check the Reading Setting

Your Front page displays may be set to Your latest posts when you really want to set it to a static page (and select the static page too).

Or you have it on a page that doesn't exist anymore, check which one you want. ;)
