Support » Theme: Constructions » home page “corrupted” on new site

  • Hi
I am very new at this. I made a new site in lockdown. It has been uploaded to the hosting site. The home page does not in any way represent what it looks like on the local site (my PC) but the pages linked to in the menu seem to be good. The person at the hosting site spent a lot of time trying to get it online (there were connection problems with the .sql datbase?) and she did get it online. She said the issue was with plugins. I deactivated all the plugins I thought appropriate. I also had a carousel of pics at the bottom of the homepage which seemed to be a problem. I deleted these for now.
The site was made with the constructions theme using Elementor.
Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be

    Thanks
    Cary

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • My apologies. The pages linked through the menu do appear as they should but the address bar is showing a localhost address. Is it correct to assume this is not the sites online page, but the one on the website I made on my PC?
I have checked on another PC and the menu is not working

    Hello crawson1,

This is not our theme. The site http://hrcivil.co.nz use template twentyseventeen and we can’t help you.

    Best Regards

    Hi
Thanks for your reply. The site was set up on the Constructions theme. After posting the message I tried to reload the site from my PC to the web host and only made things worse. It “defaulted” to this twentyseventeen theme. Can you please point me to a forum or document that explains how to do this in plain English?
My PC is running Windows 10 and WordPress is installed at the web host
    Thanks
    Cary

I forgot to mention that the site was built using the free version of Elementor. I don’t know if this is relevant. Cary
