  • Hi,

    I am wondering if its possible to have the homepage of a wordpress blog show up as a static page and then further below a page of the most recent posts? I want to have a static introduction page with which to introduce my site but I also want it to be dynamic with new posts.

    I know in the wordpress options you can change it to one or the other but there’s gotta be some way to get both… right???

    Yes – it’s possible using a custom front-page.php template file with multiple Loops.

    Hi Esmi. I appreciate your prompt response. Most of the stuff on multiple loops blew my mind…. lol. I did a little bit more fiddling and have managed to do so with the following code:

    However, when placing this code into my “page.php” template, all of my other pages show up with this secondary page of recent posts as well. I tried placing the code into the “index.php” or Main index template but then nothing happens. How does one get this secondary posts page to show up only on the main page and not the rest of the pages?
    Also, just wanted to confirm that this code is for the 5 most recent posts and not just random ones. My apologies and thanks in advance as I am very new to the world of php.
