[Resolved] Hit count admin pages being indexed by google

    @skaterkee

I have a strange problem whereby a blank page simply displaying the hit count of a post, is being indexed for each post in google.

    An example:

    wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=ajax-hits-counter-increment&post_id=270&t=

Any idea why this would be happening? How would google find such obscure links?

I just blocked admin-ajax.php in robots, do think this will sort it?

    Hello.
Can you show how you block admin-ajax.php in robots.txt?

    Disallow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

    This must work. Its strange.
For test try to write something like this:
    Disallow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax*
    or this:
    Disallow: /wp-admin/*

Cool I’ll add those to robots.

I guess we won’t know for a while whether it works, but I’ll make a note to return here and update the situation.

    Hi skaterkee,

I have the same issue. Did it work for you?

    Thanks
    mike
