• Something feels really dodgy about this company…

After trying 3 other galleries, I tried out free version – just what I wanted but needed more galleries and the snazzy photo swipe light box so I bought eco version… immediately found that only one lightbox provided.. My mistake since website is indicates more lightboxes with pro.. doh!. Bought pro and found that all worked OK expect if nested album used then photo swipe lightbox doesn’t work – all other lightboxes (apart from 1) work OK. Very strange. Went to support and they wanted admin rights to my site. Security bells ringing in my head I said no, so they wanted me to install teamviewer to give them direct access to my machine – Eeek.. I said no. (b.t.w. My site had NO other plugins active and a minimumal custom template – so very little opportunity for plugin conflicts).

I notice from the reviews that EVERYONE has used and praised support – every problem fixed in an hour or two, and many say they gave admin access to their websites…. call me suspicious but to me it makes me think that this Asian company might be setup for peeking into their customers databases.

I may be wrong but even though I paid twice for this dodgy software I have now uninstalled this gallery, reinstalled worpress and have now found Foo Gallery which does what I want for FREE – and which worked first time without giving away my database.

Oh yes – if you checkout tech bankers other products reviews – they all seem to need support to get them to work… enough said.

  • You really need to give plugin creators the benefit of the doubt, no matter that they are from Asia, most pro writers or even free writers who are willing to take a look need an admin access, sometimes even ftp access. You don’t have to give them your personal access, you can make a test user profile and add them as a admin so they can look at the problems. Once they are done, you simply remove the test user profile. I’m far more likely to give admin access than I am teamviewer, but even with teamviewer, you can see everything they are doing on your pc.

seamstobesew – I wont argue with you on some points… All i’m saying is that from the 5 star reviews of all their products, you buy the software, then you invariably have to give them the password to fix something and they always fix it in an hour or two.
If these guys were really good then you’d buy the software and it would work.
