Support » Fixing WordPress » Highlight parent item in a separate custom menu

  • Hello,

is it possible to highlight a parent page link in a separate custom menu?

I have one custom menu with 3 main links to different areas of the site. I have another set of ‘sub’ custom menus, 1 of each loads in the 3 different areas of the site that are accessed from the first custom menu.

In the back end the parent child relationships are all set up correctly but if I select a link within the second ‘sub’ custom menu, the parent link does not highlight (presumably because they are not in the same custom menu).

Is there any way to get this to work (without hard coding the first menu which I suppose I could do).

    So something like this:

    Main Menu
    Area 1 Link_______Area 2 Link_________Area 3 Link

    Area 1 Sub Menu

    Link 1______Link 2________Link 3_________Link 4

If Link 2 (or any of that sub menus links are selected, I want the Area 1 Link in the other custom menu to be highlighted.

Sorry for the drawn out explanation, hopefully it makes sense to somebody!

    Thanks 🙂
