Support » Everything else WordPress » High traffic: Minimum requeriments for WordPress

  • Hi
I’m running a very visited website (about 1 million of pageviews monthly) and I would like to move this very-static-html-site to WordPress… But I don’t know how are the minimum hardware requirements.
I’m thinking in a MySQL and Apache server, both services running in the same machine.
    Anybody can help?
Is there some kind of formula to estimate this hardware needs?

Not really. There’s a number of different things you can do though for high volumes. Without knowing your hosting budget, can’t really give specifics though.

wordpress.com is setup to handle high traffic as they spread the traffic between different datacenters.

You can also install a cache plugin that will create static pages of your content: http://ocaoimh.ie/wp-super-cache/

You can also spread your mysql load yourself: http://codex.wordpress.org/HyperDB
