 * I’ve read around wordpress use a lot of server resource, is it true or not ?

 * WordPress 2.7 loads in 0.464 seconds before tuning and in 0.339 seconds after
   tuning.
 * It all depends on how many plugins you add … causing more JS, CSS and pics on
   our pages, causing slower pages.
 * Average user CPU usage for the 24 hour period is 7.15 percent.
 * Average system CPU usage for the 24 hour period is 1.70 percent.
 * So total CPU usage is less than 10 percent.
 * That 10 percent can quickly become much more, depending on what you add.

 * WordPress version 2.84 has very serious CPU usage problems, after the “upgrade”
   I had a 10x spike in cpu usage and server load with no change in any variable
   other than the upgrade itself. [Take a look at this graph showing the enormous server load](http://img6.imageshack.us/i/loadcpu.png/)
   after upgrading to 2.8
