Hierarchical taxonomy support for Multi Select fields

Hey there (and happy holidays)! The hierarchical taxonomy display for drop down fields works great — is that something that may be extended to multi select fields in the future? Right now the terms are displayed alphabetically.

(I tried searching and only came across these two discussions which are somewhat related.)
