Does this support positioning terms beneath other terms, to become their child?

    Hi @parakeet,

This plugin does not support that. You can re-order child terms but you can’t designate a term as a child term via drag and drop.

That’s a good idea though. I’ll add a ticket for it.

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

Cool, let me know if it goes anywhere.

Idly wondering if this ever went anywhere…
    Thanks.

    Hey @parakeet,

Thanks for getting back in touch. There’s a bug with this plugin that I was going to work on this week. I will try to get this one done too.

I should have an update by the end of the week.

    Thank you,
    Kevin.

    Hi @parakeet,

Just wanted to let you know that I couldn’t include this change with our latest release. I started writing this but it quickly became too complicated and time consuming. I still have an open ticket for it and the next chance I have to work on this plugin I will try to include this.

    Sorry about that.

    All the best,
    Kevin.

Thanks for closing the loop for now.

I’d like to chime in on this topic.
I’ve imported an old Joomla site, that has hundreds of nested categories. Unfortunately they came in ‘flat’, and ordering them, with hierarchical is a proverbial headache.

If you are pursuing this functionality, I will support your efforts in a PR capacity as best I can. For those of us that maintain portal-like websites, this plugin is invaluable. THANK YOU, and I look forward to possible nesting capabilities.

    Hi @heyscotg,

We’ve pushed off supporting hierarchical drag and drop for now. It was taking a lot more time than we had planned for this plugin.

If you’re attempting to do a mass category update, I think using SQL and updating the database directly would be the easiest option.
