    Hello!

I’m using the free version to try the basic features out at the moment. Listed as a free feature is “select which profile fields users can see/modify.”, but I can’t for the life of me find where I can edit this.

WHat I want to achieve is that I want a field for each user, that only administrators can view and edit.
(This field will later be used as a field hooked and fetched to view database entries via another plugin).

Am I blind or is this feature not available as stated?

  • Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

This phrase “select which profile fields users can see/modify.” means that you, the Admin, can go to Profile Builder -> Manage Fields and add/delete fields. These changes will be seen inside the Registration and Edit Profile form.

Inside Profile Builder Hobbyist we have Extra Fields Types and one of them is the Input (Hidden) field. This field is used by the Admin for saving information that’s not visible by the logged in user.

We also have an add-on for Profile Builder Hobbyist called Field Visibility that can hide fields.

You can test out Profile Builder Pro on our demo install.

If you have any other questions regarding the premium version you cam submit a support ticket. We are not allowed to offer support for paid plugins on these free forums.

    Best regards,

Alright, that clears up confusion. I’d however suggest rephrasing, to something along the lines of “Select which profile fields users can fill in/modify”, as “see” would imply that you can chose which ones the users also can not see, which would be a hidden field.

Great plugin either way, and thanks for support 🙂

    Regards,
    Erik

    Hello Erik,

You are correct, the phrase could lead to confusion and we don’t want that.

I will forward this to the dev team.

Thank you again for your feedback.

    Best regards,
