Hide/Show Menu based on user role

I saw this addressed a couple of years ago, but aws looking for a better fix.

I have 3 menu systems. One for Authors, one for Editors, and one for Contributors.

All users must log in to the site.

I need a way to show the correct menu system based on the person’s role. If they are an Author, show only the author menu.

Just blocking access to the pages will not work, we need to hide/show the complete menu.

Any advice would be great.
