• Hi, I’m trying to set up your great theme in a way that hides the whole welcome area/image/button thing everywhere except the front page. After reading this forum it seems that the appropriate setting for this would be at Design > Customize > Welcome page > (tick at the first box, “to deactivate the header image on all pages except the front page”). And then save and exit, obviously.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to change anything anywhere. Also, I can’t figure out what the second box “hide pattern over header image” does. Again, I can’t see any difference. Other changes on this tab work very well though.

Any ideas what’s going on, or how I might hide the whole thing on a specific page via css? I’ve tried a workaround with setting the link to myurl.com/thatpage/#main However in that case the navigation bar is displayed on top of the heading and first few lines of text. So that won’t do either.

Thanks for helping! I really appreciate your work with the theme, and especially with your support here!

  • Post a link to your site please, those options still work fine for me.

Here you go, the page where the header should disappear: http://urlgone.com/5f9cb1/ (link expires in 3 days as the site is still in private testing). On the menu bar “main” on the very right would link to the same page to #main as described above. Thanks!

Is that page actually a subdomain? Or have you used the single page header options? I’m asking because the text on the header is different. So it basically doesn’t have any relation with your front page header image.

That was my workaround with the single page header option. It says basically “scroll down”. But I think I’ve solved it now. I believe what happened was that I first didn’t know about the tick box in the Customizer so I tried adding a small custom image on that one page. Then I read about the tick box, tried to delete the custom image but couldn’t (or maybe I un-ticked “use custom header on this page”). But then the customizer option didn’t work anymore.

So you were right, if I don’t use single page header options on a new page, the tick box works well. If I only knew what “hide pattern over image” means …

    Thanks!

If you look at your image you’ll see an orange dotted pattern. That checkbox hides the pattern.

Indeed. I think I’m getting too old to see things that tiny.

Again, many thanks for the theme and especially for all the effort you put in here to support us! All the best!
