• I am using The7 theme with Ultimate Member and Visual Composer. I am building a membership site and would like to restrict content based on user role but am struggling to figure out how to do this.

I have two user roles, member and volunteer.
I have a number of categories which are the same whether you are a member or a volunteer, however some of the posts should only be visible to volunteers.

For example I have two posts, Post One is CatA and can be seen by anyone and should appear in post listing (blog) pages. Post Two is CatA but should only be visible in post listing (blog) pages if the user has a volunteer role and is logged in. I have restricted a post using ultimate member, which prevents a non logged in user viewing the post page. However, I have set up my main page using Visual Composer with ‘Blog Scroller’ and ‘Blog Masonry & Grid’ and Post Two is appearing even if you are not logged in, how do I hide it?

What is the best way to restrict post content in this way? Are there any better plugins that would do this for me to keep things simple. I’ve never modified any code and would prefer not to unless that is the only way to achieve what I’m after.

This is my first post so please be gentle as I’m struggling to figure everything out!
