[resolved] Hide one of the comment textareas (2 posts)

I've searched through other topics and I can't find the answer to this question. I finished customizing a child theme of highwind, and when I got down to the particulars I realized that there are two textareas on the comments page. One is above the input field of "Name" "Email" and "Website", while the other one is below.

I can't find where in the style.css to eliminate one or the other of the fields, since they are both grouped under the same class. When I inspect the source of my site's url, the higher textarea is shown with some values for column and row that are not in the style.css and not in any other highwind files.

How do I customize this difficult part? I want to eliminate one of the textareas, mainly the first one, because the scripting here only accepts text entered into the lower textarea. When text is entered in the higher text area, I get an error on submitting the reply without a comment.

I edited the framework/highwind-functions.php file and modified the highwind_move_textarea function, commenting out "print $textarea;" on the last line. Now I only have one textarea.

I tried doing this before by copying the entire "framework" directory to my highwindchild directory, but it looks like that directory has to stay in the parent directory for editing purposes.
