"Hide Login Area" doesn't work (5 posts)

So this is the first I've tried this plugin, and it looks great.

Installed fine, and I've configured a few aspects individually. However the "Hide Login Area" doesn't work at all.

It's added the correct rules to my .htacess file, but when I try and access the new URL it just redirects to the "not_found" page. The old wp-admin URL continues to work.

However, what makes it even worse is that when I logged out, the wp-admin link wouldn't work at all, so I was completely locked out!

I had to manually rename the plugin folder and remove a row from the database in "wp_options" before I could log back in again.

Bit of a problem if you ask me!

For me, this was one of the main reasons why I installed the app. Is it something that needs fixing in a new version of the plugin?

    Chris.

I am experiencing the same problem after the last update (4.021 - have been using the plugin for few months now). Trying to login with my changed slug results in the 404 error, as well as with wp-admin. However, when I try domain_name/wp-admin/index.php, I regain access ti my website. Trying to access the admin panel from the bar on the website does not work as well, only 404 errors. I guess this is not the way the plugin was supposed to work? Could anyone help without telling us to restore the database and .htaccess?

    Hello All,

Could you update to the most current version of 4.2.2 and let me know if this helps?

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

Upgraded to 4.2.2 and also tried the development version. Everything works but the hide backed function.

After changing the login URL I can access it, input the password, pass two factor authentication and instead of accessing the dashboard, I get 404.

    Reverting back to 3.6.6
