You can hide the header and footer from the Additional CSS in the WordPress Customizer. First of all, navigate to Appearance >> Customize from your admin dashboard. Then open Additional CSS section and start adding custom style.
You can add the link button in the Description form.

Hi and thanks for your quick answer.
Adding custom css to hide header & footer when viewing the password form doesn’t really work because in this case header & footer would still hide after password was entered … As soon as you’re logged in i want the header & footer to be seen.
Is there another way to fix that …?

Could you try add your own script and style into our login page’s header and footer using the following actions here.

To hide the header and footer, you just need set display style of header and footer to none.
Let us know if it works.

Hi,
i’ve now switched to the sitewide protection option and added some custom code to add the additional buttons/links i need for my purposes.
