# Hide empty area field & default area unit

 * Hello, for example, if we sell terrain, it doesn’t have built area, but ugly 
   empty area filed still appears

 * How we can hide the filed if it’s empty?
 * 2. How can we make “sq m” as a default value instead of “sq ft”?

 * Thanks for your message.. Do you have 3.6.1 version? It is weird as we can not
   reproduce the issue. If Area field is empty, it is also empty.
    Do you use default
   Area field or you created are field via Fields Builder? You can change default
   value in Data manager >> [http://prntscr.com/it1is5](http://prntscr.com/it1is5)
